Arizona is now the IN place to be. Not only Sparkle, Beth, and Ava, but now me, too. I was coming this direction on the way to Blythe, CA so we all got together at Goldfield, a NFS campground outside of Mesa, AZ. Sparkle took some pics, so I hope they turned out well. So much fun meeting Beth and Ava, and seeing Sparkle (Jean) again. We sat outside eating shrimp with cocktail sauce, crackers and cheese, wasabi peas, and chocolate cake. The sun was going down right as I finally got here and I saw part of a beautiful sunset out my rear window. Tomorrow morning it will be fun to explore around here a little before leaving on the final leg of my journey from Kansas.

I hadn't realized there was a sunset in the background. Thought I'd missed it on the way there.

I just love meeting everyone. How kewl is it that just yesterday or day before, because of a post here, we were able to also meet OregontoCal! Was great that Ava could join us again tonight - alas, she had to leave and will be working in the morning, but will be nice to spend a bit more time with Chris before she, Sparkle and I all pull out tomorrow. Bogie and Peaches like where we are - the river here is on sand and rocks - so we can let them off leash and into the water, with no mud coming back with them.
Earlier today, saw some different birds - well, saw some jack rabbits, but didn't get pics of them. Saw a hummingbird in a tree near the casino we boondocked at last night. Then when Sparkle got gas today, there was this lovely sound of birds. I jumped out of the truck to find them - turns out there were a LOT of love birds in a tree at the gas station. I still have all those pics on my camera - will try to upload them one day later this week and post one (can't wait to spend a day and get my blog updated and all kinds of pics on there).

Is that what eating shrimp and wasabee beans will do to one? I've never heard a real 'musical toot'!!!!!

The only downside to this trip was an email I received this morning from my long-time more-than-friend Lou, letting me know he was now seeing someone else. The relationship probably should have died a natural death last year, but . . . you know how that goes. He still wants to be friends, but I wrote to him that under the circumstances, I felt it would be best not to see each other.
I think I'll get dressed and go out to watch the sun come up in this wide open sky out here in the desert and try to think about something I read a long time ago: "Don't be sad that it's over; be happy that it happened." Sounded good at the time and I'm now wondering how easy it will be to put into actual practice.

"The way each day will look to you all starts with who you're looking to."
Chris it's a good sign that you contemplate these things at sunrise and not at sunset. A new day has begun, and God has better plans for you.

Chris, you don't need no stinkin Lou, you got tha Sistah's!!! Remember people come into our lives for reasons, we learn, we teach, we get from each other what is needed and we keep that knowledge and experience with us to make us who we are, intricate, wonderful women! Ow, my head hurts, that's deep for me, LOL. Keep your chin up!
