Scary times ...

My beautiful, red-headed great niece is in the hospital with pneumonia. What
torques my jaws is that this teen-age girl was taken to the emergency room three
times and each time sent home over a period of four days. She was coughing
for 30 minutes at a time, so hard that she threw up. Then her personal doc
did a blood oxygen test and told mom to either call an ambulance or take Sarah
to the hospital forthwith.

She was improving as of yesterday ... but I'm trying to find out how Sarah did
overnight. These are scary times for our kids.

UPDATE: Sarah's doing better overnight ... whew. Mom sounds trashed.

I sure hope she's improving,... scary, indeed! She's in that dangerous age category for the H1N1. Best wishes! (and may heads roll!)

Oh, Janice, that's awful! But at least now she's getting the care that she needs.
She'll be right as rain in no time!

My Mom used to tell me and my brother that we had pneumonia so often we were hardly worth keeping!

I have heard of other ERs that do not take good care of emergency situations. A friend was sent home by ER doctor as having a panic attack(convulsions and passing out).....her blood sugar was actually over 800! And he calls himself a doctor. People need to demand better care at ERs and not let them herd them out.
