The Travel Journal of Mr Sunny and the Twins

Mr Sunny (S) and the Twins, Red and the Other Red were accidently left behind at the TN GTG. There was initially some confusion as to where they had traveled from before being found on Vickie's table and they jumped in the camper with Herschel till they could make their way home ...which it turns out is actually in Southern California. We should have figured that seeing how bright and cheerful S is! The Twins are a little more of a handful...you know how twins can be. Sharon said that they could travel a bit before I sent them packing to So.Cal. so..... here goes.
S and the Twins have continued south out of Nashville and down the Natchez Trace.
The pictures from the first part of their journey is taking for ever to up load to PB so I will send of the Thursday part of their journey and get back to Tuesday and Wed. later......
On Thursday S and the Ts stopped to see Rosemont...the boyhood home of Jefferson Davis. The one lane road leading back made the driver thankful that she wasn't driving a class A. The Twins noticed the Spanish Moss up in the trees and knew for sure that they weren't in Kansas anymore or TN or Ohio....
A lot of the furnishings inside are directly connected to the Davis family or relatives. The guide also showed marks on the wall that showed the growth of family members and even where one of the nephews had etched his name in one of the windows.
The kitchen was in a separate building and had a neat table and more rustic furnishings.
The Ts made S climb up on the stove even though he tried to explain that he would have been placed on the table and they would have been used on the pots, etc. But you know the Twins...they are so impulsive!
Here they are sitting infront of the hearth in the kitchen.....I seemed like a nice gathering place on a chilly evening. Do they have chilly evenings in southern Mississippi?
This was/is the herb garden. The fence is to keep the chickens out (and probably the Twins!)
This house wasn't really on the tour and the guide lady had disappeared.....I think it may have been used by the family. But S liked it.
Here is a view of the one lane road heading out. This one is straighter than the one coming in and the water hadn't washed as much of it away. The grounds are owned by a gentleman who the driver was able to meet. Only a other couple was there and leaving as we drove in. The grounds and the buildings appeared to be a struggle to care for. You definitely got the feeling of another century. Nothing fancy about any of this. There was only the one woman to greet and give the tour of the house...after you go over to the grape arbor and listen to the 10 minute very informative audio tape....
