4 wheeling in Canyonlands

Just some pictures I took while we were following a 4 wheel drive trail in Canyonlands.
We were going to see this formation
Image
The start of the trail - cliff one side drop off other side
Image
There goes the road? trail
Image
Around that corner
Image
You can see the highway below us
Image
There is a valley between the road and the cliff in the back ground
Image
Just some scenery from ride
Image
More scenery - different
Image
Image
More of the road
Image
Can see for ever - mountains way back there are 35 miles away
Image
Heres Willie (our jeep)
Image
Another part of the road
Image
Image
Image
Just more scenery
Image
Can't begin to describe it - magnificent
Image
From here we went into Canyonlands National Park - Words cannot describe the views.
A beautiful day - just perfect - bright blue skys - puffy white clouds - red rocks - green bushes
Splended

Hey Carol, did you drive to the cliff that they used in the movie "Thelma and Louise"? We've done that trip twice and never get tired of it. Thanks for the third :D :D carold

I've heard of "wheres Waldo" but now ya gonna make me play "wheres Willy", I never
saw any picture of Willy the jeep. did anyone else notice that or is it my
computer? not even a placeholder!
Love the pics Carol, and definately would have loved the adventure too, thanks for
taking me along. Now, I gotta go find Willy!

Certainly vastly different scenery from what I am used to! I will visit such places some day, but suspect I will be way to leery to take a REAL jeep around those trails on the cliffs. I thought perhaps you were in an ATV.....but a jeep???? Wow!

Thanks for the great pics!

Soos, those jeep trails are definitely doable. I was a little leery the first time, but the second, no problem. Some parts are narrower and curvier than others but never heard stories about anyone going over  carold

HAHAHAHA < VICKIE!

I guess you girls haven't been 4 wheeling in as crazy a' places as I have been in the past.. w/ a very adventurous husband. I've been to places,, and even dragged trailers in places that some ppl wouldn't take a JEEP! and trying to turn around was a real TRIP!

AHHHHHH , to be young again! ! ! ! ! !

I plan to do some of that exploring, when I get out and about... God willing! ;)

Carol, thanks for the truly magnificent pictures.

Soos, there are even people doing that tour with truck campers (4 wheel drive and pop up TC's which are lighter in weight). There are a few on the TC forum at RV.Net that I follow and have no intention of persuing. Where they take the TC's is beyond description. There are also many Jeep clubs out that way as well. Sure is beautiful country.

Great pics, Carol. Thanks for sharing. (Any chance you and Bill will get near the North Rim before the end of Oct???)
