When you hate to come home, I guess that means it was a great trip. Went to Colorado Springs to see my son and then on to Pagosa Springs. Got to soak in the hot springs there and it felt good on the ole body.
Sure learned a lot on the trip. Packed too much clothes. My propane was working, but the smell filled up the coach when I turned it on. So was afraid to use it, will have it checked out. So I bought a ceramic electric heater which worked great.
Took only Pixie on this trip, she traveled great, but was a little barky. I kept apologizing to people
Got over 2 CO passes, Monarch and Wolf Creek. The going up wasn't bad, it was the coming down, used all my gears. Took it slow and easy. Stayed in some nice cgs and 1 not so great. My first experience staying at Walmart was good. Sure a lot of rigs and cars stop for the night there.

So glad your first trip was succesful. My son is also in Colorado Springs (Air Force) Good thing you didn't use your propane, that doesn't sound right. But that's what RVing is all about. Propane dicey, buy a heater - you didn't allow the problem to spoil your trip. Congratulations.

Yipee, sounds like you did good on your trip, Cat. Wish the propane would have worked for you, but you can have that checked and hopefully won't take much to get right. Did you know that Pagosa Springs has live cameras in town that you can go to and wave at somebody logged on to http://www.pagosasun.com/livelook.html Did you eat at the Malt Shoppe? yummy place! If you remembered to take any pics, we'll love to have you share them with us.

So glad your first longer trip went well, .... most of it. The propane thing is tricky. I'm glad that you were smart and didn't try to use it until it's checked out. I remember an old country music song about 30 years ago about Wolf Creek Pass.... I guess those places make our mountains look like hills. Lower gears are our friends!

Hey Cat, sounds like your first long trip was a success You'll soon have all the problems solved, until the next one shows up We were just in Colorado Springs and enjoyed the area. Drove up to Pike's Peak and stayed at a nice campground outside of town. The good thing about getting home, is starting planning the next trip. carold

Everytime I travel out, I learn something new about the RV, my methods (or lack of), .....always something. I have a list of "need to check about..." or "need to fix..." items. Glad your trip went well.....I think you are right, when you get the feeling that you could just keep driving instead of heading back.....you know the comfort level is fine!

Glad your trip was a good one, Carol!! I'm looking forward to hearing more about your travels. Smart move on the propane problem. That's why they put the stinky stuff in the gas, otherwise you'd never have known about the leak.

Not to hijack your post, but here I go: I just had Little Missy checked cause my AC sounded like it was trying to come on when the inside got warmed up from running the furnace. Ended up the guys said everything checked out A-ok there, but found a seam that needed attention asap. So I ended up getting all my seams checked and rechaulked. I'd like to think God used the AC as a way to get me into the service center before I got any water damage from the crack.

Carol - Sounds like a very successful trip!! I would have done the same thing with the propane thing - get it checked out asap.Glad you had a good time and you go girl for going over those CO passes. Weren't the ones up to Silverton or the one following the Arkansas River??? Very beautiful but YIKES!

So glad you had a great trip Cat, when I smelled my propane leaking, it was the
regulator, they don't last forever and they are cheap enough to replace. I actually
did it myself, but then I'm kinda handy with tools, so it was not a problem. Hope
yours is a simple fix, and glad you kept it turned off for your safety.
Colorado is beautiful any time of year, but then I'm prejudice for my beautiful
home state, but each season has its downfalls so ya gotta take the good with
the bad. June is nice though, not too hot yet, ski season is over and summer
storms haven't started yet. September is always beautiful, and nice weather
but you never know if you'll get a snowstorm or not, its just that time of year.
Usually the first snow in town (Denver) is close to halloween but they had their
first one just the other day and everyone was shocked. Ahhhhh, I love Colorado.
