So now how do I edit my profile so I can put in an avatar?

USER CONTROL PANEL (upper left) > PROFILE > EDIT AVATAR

When I put in the same url as I used to post the pic it tells me I'm using an invalid url. Does anybody have any ideas about that one?

I know it's goofy, but get rid of the opening and closing IMG codes, including brackets. Just have it start with the http://

..
