well the ac guy was here, the motor is fried :(
they run ABOUT 200, and getting one might be a problem cause its a coleman,
and the coleman factory in California burned down and Coleman is trying to get
back up and running, or it was the Dometic factory, can't remember what he said,
but he is going to see if he has a used one that he can put on to get me up n runnin.
Cost 130 just for that info :(
Its 101.7 in here right now and I'm going over to the clubhouse to cool off until I
hear back from him. Will catch up later.

Ava, I assume the guy checked the capacitor and/or you trust him?

Mitch,

People pay money for research skills such as your own. A friend of my cousin works as on various research projects. Some require travel and looking up original doc....micro film, etc. She has worked for the History Detective before also! I think you could find information on anything......

the capacitor..............he put a new one on and tried the motor again, could not
get it to budge. He called me back, did not have a used motor that would fit mine,
but he said he has some other outlets that will be open on Monday and he will check
around. I do get skeptical myself, so I try and keep an eye on this stuff too. Don't
want to get ripped off. Spending another night at my daughters, although it will be
nice to get back home where I can be comfortable. Daughter is very picky about stuff.
Never throw anything smelly in the trash  she has a very sensitive nose! But I love
her dearly. She must have got her pickiness from her father!

Bummer Ava! But....looking on the bright side, if there is one, it wasn't the compressor. Hope it's repaired soon! I remember trying to find a fan motor for one of our class C's and it was a pain in the butt. It's the fan motor, right? Not the compressor?

Oh, Ava, I hope he can find one for you that isn't too expensive. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you! :)

definately the fan motor, and they do run about 200, which is why he was looking
to see if he had a used one in his shop, but no luck there.
Got the swamp cooler all set up and hooked up, couldn't get the pump to pump, but
after fiddeling with it, (took it apart, ) found there was a terminal somehow
got pushed up and was stopping the little spinner thingy from spinning to pump the
water. Pushed it back down and we're good to go. Just waiting to see it cool down
but it may take overnight as hot as this place is. I've also always preferred the
aspen pads on a swamp cooler rather than the blue pads they come with and if I
can get the aspen pads fairly cheap I'll replace them. Called my friend and told him
I finally got the pump to work and everything was fine. Oh yea, had to pick up the
overflow plug cause he forgot to toss that in there, but their only $3. No biggy. I'm
hoping it cools off enough that I can bring the dogs home tonight and we can all
sleep better.

I hope that cooler works better than the one we had when I was a kid. It was about the size of a washing machine and the only place I remember being cool was standing in front of it. My dad was stationed in Wichita Falls, TX. It was in the kitchen window, I guess so mother could cook without passing out.

Swamp coolers work really well BUT its got to be in dry heat like AZ. They don't work if its humid.
