I got to my brother's place in Lewisburg, Ohio yesterday and have been meeting all their critters and enjoying their beautiful place out in the country. They raise and show dachshunds and have some champions. Besides "the girls," they also have one male dachshund and a male lab, as well as two horses. They take the girls to field trials and to help train them, they've mowed paths in part of their property to get them used to searching for rabbits.

would love to see pics of the little ones, my little Gracie loves dachsunds, she
used to pick them out at the dog park to be her buddies, but we don't go anymore.
edited to add....
I checked out your facebook page, the girls are adorable and looks like a great
area to hang out in, looks like a farming area. Can't say what the "pods" are,
have never seen anything like it before.

The pods look like immature milkweed seed pod...the grow all over this area. If they are....when they mature and dry they split open up and each seed with its silky attachment drifts away in the wind.
Thanks for sharing the pics. I bet the dogs love running the field...all good things for dog noses. Enjoy your visit with family.

Your spot looks peaceful and relaxing. Cute doggies too! Bet that was fun to watch them searching through the grass.

Haven't scooted over to check your blog yet, but yep, those doxies love to hunt rabbits! As kids we had one, white with black spots, and when he was happy his entire butt wagged. We called him Jiggers, and could he hunt rabbits!
He'd get right into the woodpiles, too. What fun! Glad you are reconnecting with family!

I added some more pictures. It's so much easier to add them to a Facebook album than it is messing around with Photobucket. So, here's the URL:
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3 ... 1147722448When you see the one of the covered bridge, yes, it really is made from an old RV. The owners found it on their property and made good use of it.

Chris, the only one I can see when I click your link is the creek across the road. Do I have to be a member of Facebook in order to see the rest?

No, you don't have to be a facebook member. Just click on that picture and it should open up the whole album. Let me know if it doesn't work.
Also, at the top right hand corner you'll see "Previous" and "Next." You can also click on those.

Same with me, Chris-----can only see that first pic and no other options other to join. I cancelled Facebook when friends of friends began contacting me! Not my idea of 'secure'!!!

I'm sorry this doesn't seem to be working. This is what it says at the bottom of my Facebook photo album page. You shouldn't have to join Facebook to see the pictures. If so, they're really giving some false information.
Share this album with anyone by sending them this public link:

I can see them all with the new link, thanks Chris. That looks like a nice place to go and spend time with your family and relax.
I joined Facebook once, then turned right around and canceled it, for some reason I didn't like it. I do have a MySpace page, mostly to keep in touch with my nieces.

Chris,.... thanks for the pics. I really enjoyed the doxies ... I used to have a doxy, her name was Drunk! When we got her the family that had her had named her that. She was the runt of the litter and used to stagger around like she was drunk. Unfortunately the name stuck.
That was many years ago and your pics brought back happy memories of my little girl who has gone to the rainbow bridge.
