Return to Intercourse

Postby asirimarco » Thu Jul 30, 2009 7:36 am

We went back to Intercourse (I like that name) yesterday. I just had to have some of the sweet pickles and corn salsa that I didn't buy when we were there before. Also picked up some chow chow - I remember my Mom making it when I was a kid.
Also was looking for the pattern for the quilt I saw. I found it and bought it. Also visited a quilt museum I missed last time - saw this quilt - it is hanging completely flat on a wall. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Also saw something I'd never seen before. While going through a small town we came to some railroad tracks and there was a train coming very slowly - there were no arms come down to block the road but the red lights were blinking. From the s l o w moving engine a man climbed down and walked to the middle of the road where he waved his red flag to make sure the cars stopped. When the engine crossed the road he got back in, the train picked up speed and was on its way.

Another interesting day here in PA.

Sure can be noisey.
Tomorrow we leave towards home. Can't extend our stay at this campground and home is pulling. Will take it slow going though.
And in a new campground I'll find out if the Internet works with the satellite away from here or if we have a problem.

Thanks for the pictures especially the quilt! Could you tell if it was hand stitched? Can't imagine the time either way might have taken to complete.

That quilt was amazing for sure! I'd liked to have seen it in person.
Now what caught my eye was the 5er parked in the geese pictures. Is it my tied old eyes or is that thing parked all askew!? :o Looks like things would roll off the shelves inside!
As always, thanks for sharing and taking us on your adventures!

I've always loved the name of that town. The quilt is amazing - looks like a Seminole pattern of some kind.
