I'm thinking about meandering cross country to the Northeast next June or July. Would like to see Novia Scotia, Prince Edward Island then maybe across Canada and return thru the Dakotas. Would do some boondocking/Walmarts to save money. Anyone interested in a caravan? I'm ready for a long fun trip instead of workamping one summer.

Pretty much out of the question for me, but I do have lots of space for some boondockers in my yard when you hit South Dakota.

How long you thinking of being gone?
I might be interested, depending on my situation with my sweetie and a couple other things.
Color me 'maybe'.

Sounds interesting - we were thinking of going to Nova Scotia this year as we have friends who own a campground there. But decided that the trip was too long for this summer. Five Islands Ocean Resort & RV Campground Nova Scotia can't remember their e-mail. Sounds like a really nice place, but pricey.

Karen, If you are heading east I would like to meet you and members of your caravan. I wouldn't travel the whole distance but a few miles would be fun. I will watch for your plans.

We're planning a trip to Wyoming with my sister and her hubby next fall before heading south in 2010, but would gladly host the Caravan at Conewago/Cole Bros. Campground near Gettysburg, PA if you are coming east next summer....so think about it, Karen....
Ernie's a great tour guide of the battlefield....

Color me maybe, too. As with Mitch, depends on my sweetie.....or not. Can I bring a Cabana Boy???? Those are places I haven't been and want to go....Can we see Niagra Falls? Even tho I lived on the east coast for a few years, didn't see much more than NYC, upstate NY and parts of Joisy...both kids were born in NJ. Sounds like another one of those trips of a lifetime and since the older I get the shorter my lifetime gets, wouldn't want to miss out on the fun!
And yes, I think that by then you will need a passport....I already have mine but need to check and see when it expires.

Haven't decided yet, but an east coast tour including Nova Scotia and Prince Ed. Is. were in my thoughts for next summer. Wouldn't do a caravan, but would love to meet up from time to time if our routes/times coincide.

Am interested also. Might have to run and catch up with a group as I might want to work the seasonal test scoring job again to earn the $$$ for the gas and extra fun!! ...and this year the projects lasted through the end of June. As you get a better idea of a route and time frame pass it on. Just keep me in the loop. Either way, I am itching to take off and finances should look good for that in 2010...at last, sigh.

Not for me - but a few comments. If you get a real caravan going - and that means more than 2 rigs - someone will need to really plan it out as far as routes, etc. And everyone before agreeing to go with needs to agree on if you drycamp or always want hookups, etc.
Like Liz, the only way I'd do a caravan with more than 2, maybe 3, would be with a lot of flexibility like Liz, Carol and I did this one. It's one reason I don't do the real caravans - if there's someplace I like, I want to stay - and if there's someplace I don't like but others do - I don't want to be stuck there, either. It's GREAT to share with others - but again, if you want to do a real caravan of several units, it's going to have to really be planned by someone - at least all the basics, route, time frames, etc.
Enjoy - sounds like a big group of you are interested - make it happen - and have a ball.

This is exactly the trip I wanted to take to start on my RV adventure. But I have two problems. First I don't have an RV yet
and I'll still be working
I wish you all who are going a great trip!

I may still not have an RV by then but if your route takes you anywhere within a few hours of me, I'll gladly make a day trip to meet you and others.
