Lisa Ling did a story recently on Oprah about the tent cities that are springing up all over the country. At least being able to live in a campground gives them access to bathrooms and showers. Some of the tent cities she showed were located in open fields outside the cities and had no sanitation. So why are we giving billions to other countries? Shouldn't we start in our own backyard?

Karen, that's what I have always said. Especially about rebuilding Iraq. They have oil so why don't they pay for their own schools, hospitals, etc.? We have people of our own that need help. Seattle has a tent city that keeps having to move because the powers that be won't let them stay on public property and even chase them off church land.
