Hopefully the end of the saga

got my car back, FINALLY, its fixed  a new battery, a new transmission and
$100 later, all it needed was an alternater  it was only working part of the
time. They had tested the alternater several times and it was fine but they
took it for a 40 mile test drive, and when it drained the battery they tested
it again and sure enough it proved bad. They didn't charge me a penny, except
the rental car office charged me $11 for the tax portion of the bill. Guess I
did my share to stimulate the economy.
Knock on wood my car gives me no more problems.

Glad they finally found the problem. Nothing more nerve wracking then driving a car that you have to wonder if it is going to keep running. Raises the blood pressure for sure.

So glad to hear that the problems is fixed. Hope you now have many happy safe miles with it. Those altenators can be sneaky.

That's great news. Had an alternator ruin 2 new batteries on me - which I ended up not paying for either. You'd think mechanics would kinow better, but seems to be something they get right after a couple times of getting it wrong. Hahaha. So glad your car is back and your portion of the bill was so small. You didn't need any new expenses.
