well, my car broke down :x
I got stranded :(
but now I'm home :)

my car was acting up when I just got home from work today, check engine light
came on and it was trying to die, and I barely made it into the driveway. Did some
checking in the engine, cleaned off the battery terminals, checked and added oil,
checked the air filter, it needs replaced and decide to go get a new one but the
car wouldn't start. The maintenance man came over and used the jumper thingy
to jump it and I went to Auto Zone. Not too busy, good, so they put the diagnostic
thing on and the alternater is bad. So.......they had to jump me again to get me
out of the parking lot and on my way home cause I'm thinking in the morning I'll
take it over to the repair shop by my work and leave it while I'm working. Didn't
get down the street a mile and it was dieing out again, pulled into Walgreens
parking lot and it died  Theres another repair shop right next to the walgreens
but its closed and opens at 7 am. Ok, so I'll get them to fix it in the morning but
in the meantime I have to check with Walgreens to make sure they don't tow my
car for leaving it in the parking lot all night, the guy says it will be ok til 1tomorrow
afternoon and that he'll leave a note for the day manager. (sure hope he does)
Then I have to figure out how I'm gonna get home, call a friend, he's drunk so no
go, call another friend from work and got my ride. What a whole lot of cryin that
was!! But the drunk friend will come and get me in the morning (he'll be sober)
take me to work, get my keys from me and go over to SunDevil and make the
arrangements to get the car fixed. That way I won't loose a days pay :? ;) How
totally stressful this evening was, but at least I'm home now and have everything
figured out.

Murphy? oh that fellow actually takes a room here once in a while,... for days on end!

So glad it's just an altenator and not a crash and you got hurt. YOU are ok,... Take a deep breath and relax. This too will pass..... (yeah,.. easy for me to say sitting here hundreds of miles away, right? )

Hang in there Ava!

Don't ya just hate days like that???? My friends and I call it The Little Black Cloud (pronounced LEE-tull). It'll eventually leave - you may be battle scarred, but it'll be gone!!!

Just think - things can only mostly go UP! :)

Oh MY, Ava! That is a day you hope to not repeat! I'm thankful the drunk friend didn't try to help you out while he was drunk...that was a good thing. And I hope he remember to get you to work today. You are having a tough summer with no bus driving, I know, and it has to be really stressful. Especially with credit card debt mounting and interest rates sky-rocketing. 2009 will be a year to remember for many of us, I can see that.

In the meantime, remember the most important things----"I am still breathing." I have the love of my four-footers, and I am needed by them as well." "I am not starving" "I am not freezing to death, or roasting to death." "I have many friends who care about me." And that we certainly do! As someone said, the only way to go is up after this little dark cloud disperses!

Hugs from me and Molly

So sorry for those car troubles, but the Lord takes care of us...you are safe and a plan in place to get things taken care of. Be thankful for your friends. Hope things are looking up today.

thanks for that ray of sunshine, its really funny how some things work out,
when I got to work and got my substitute assignment for the day, turns out
the kid I had to pick up lived just down the street from where my car was
(SunDevil Auto) and I had an hour to kill so I stopped in there with the bus
and talked to the guy. They put the diagnostic thing on and found the alternator
to be fine, (would have been a $400 expense, labor and all) turns out it was the
battery afterall, (my first suspicion) so, $112 is much better than $400, phew.
Now its all fixed and good to go and yes, I quit crying too.
