Image re-sizer

I noticed on going thru some of the posts that a few of you are having difficulty re-sizing pictures on Photobucket. I use a free down loadable image re-sizer that works fantastic. It has 4 sizes to choose from, avatar to large, and the best part is, when you resize it keeps your original photo and makes a copy of the resized picture. The resized photo ends up at the end of your pictures in whatever folder you have them in. All you do is point with your mouse on the picture you want resized, right click, click on resize image, choose the size you want and voila....a new smaller picture! Easy Peasy, then you can put the new picture on PB to post here!

Click on the link, when it comes up scroll down and look on the right side for IMAGE RESIZER. Takes a couple of minutes to download. I've been using this program for about 4 years and never had a problem with it.

Try going into wherever you keep your pictures, right click on a picture and see if a menu comes up with the image resizer on the menu. I just tried it on a pix, and a long menu came up with Preview, rotate etc. One of the choices was "resize picture". That's the one you want to left click on. Let me know.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I spent an entire day trying to help a friend resize a picture for her signature and never did get photobucket to cooperate.

Glad it worked for you, Karen. I really like it and it's so easy to use. Does this rate me a flamingo glass????

Last time I posted photos here, I used Picasa. Was much easier to use than Photobucket!

Yep, you are correct! Just right clicked a pic and resize was one of the options! I clicked on the resize and the options were:
Small: 640X480
Med: 800x600
etc

What would be the size for posting pictures? The medium?

Thanks!

Actually, the small is just about perfect. This is from our Easter Moab jeep trip.

Paulette, I've never had any problems with PB, but I've always sized my photos before I put them on there. When I did the Alaska trip I posted tons of photos, sorta like Liz, and did just fine. Maybe I've just been lucky with them.

My main complaint about PB is that it is soooooo slow. I don't have the patience to sit that long and load pictures. So this way I can save them in Picasa and then copy and insert them into the forum. Worked much quicker, IMHO.

Thanks Paulette, I may try Picaso, but after reading about another lady that had trouble sizing her photos on Picaso, will probably still size them on my 'pooter and then put in Picaso.

photobucket takes forever sometimes, I'll give picasa a try as well.

I prefer using Picasa, but haven't on here because I was under the impression (who know's why) that only PhotoBucket worked here. I have alot of pics on Picasa and just moved some of them over to PH to post. Now I know  Thanks Gals

You can use any program to post pics here - we just ask that you use one that hosts the pictures (to save bandwidth).

I just went back to look at Picasa because I was thinking that I had tried that before, before I got the impression only PB worked. In the Picasa forum there it was, lots of people complaining that they did not allow hot linking. They wanted to use it to post in forum threads and while the pic would show up for a while, something about when the traffic was detected it was disabled. Does that make sense to yall, I understand but may have not explained it, cause I'm not real good at this stuff

Beth, like I said I don't know a lot, how do you know if they "host", what does that mean, exactly, lol, sorry I be a dummy
