Hard to Catch Up

After being away from the internet for over a month, it certainly is hard to catch up with what everyone is doing.

I have been workamping at Thomas Canyon Campground just south of Elko, NV. I have sewer and water hookups only. I did get a trucker's antenna and amplifier in order to get cell service, but the amplifier has to be plugged in to the cigarette lighter in order to work, so it is used only occasionally.

This campground is in the Lamoille Canyon which is called the Grand Canyon of Nevada. It is a beautiful place. But like Chris we have been having thunderstorms every day, some hail and lots of rain. The elevation is 7600 ft, so spring is just now starting for us. The little wildflowers are so cute. The place is almost overrun with chokecherry bushes.

When the weather clears up I will try to get some pictures.

Welcome to civilization. It would probably take forever to catch up. Might try Barbz morning recaps. Hopefully the weather will clear up. Looking forward to your pictures. NO electricity for that long. Aren't you the brave one. carold

Hey Patty, good to hear from you! Been wondering what happened to you. Sounds like a cool place to work, but I agree, no electric would be a bummer. I don't mind for a couple of weeks, but, heck I guess if I could do it for a couple of weeks I could do it for longer. Do you use your genny much and if so, where do you get gas to replenish? Keep in touch, GF!

Thanks for checking in! I guess it's a case of your gen is your best buddy, right? I'd be ok, as long as i could run the gen enough to watch a movie, check email, etc.

Sounds like a nice area. Well, minus the storms of course! :D
