RVing Blogs Directory

Postby VickieP » Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:50 am

Hi all, I've been going to this website for a good while now to read RV blogs and wondered if anyone else did and were having problems with it. The problem began on Sunday when I tried to access it I got the following message:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/1.3.33 Server at http://www.rvingblogs.com Port 80

Anybody know what this means,,, do you get the same message? http://www.rvingblogs.com

I got that same message yesterday when i tried to access a blog,...can't remember which one. not through that website, though. I just shrugged it off and went to do something else as I knew I was fine and it was just a quirk of the cyber world.

Vickie...I get that 'Forbidden' message almost ALL the time. If I use my laptop I don't usually have a problem. Have no idea what the problem is & Beth has tried numerous times to try to fix it. It's come to the point that I access this website less & less....it's totally frustrating & though I love the posts & want to follow what everyone's doing...sometimes it's not worth it. I've tried posting several times also & the post gets lost in the solar system.... :o anyhow, if you figure out how to solve this problem please e-mail me....Thx..... 8-)

I've gotten a message like that a couple of times when I've tried to acess a blog, but don't have any trouble getting on this forum or posting messages. Sorry you're having trouble with the site, Excell. I thought I was having trouble posting at one time and discovered it was operator error....was hitting the save button instead of submit.

Make sure that you have cleaned up your temporary files, cookies, and history. (open browser, go to Tools, Internet Options and then empty those files) Then close and open a new browser. That will 'sometimes' fix the evil doers that live in the cyber world. Think of all that junk as a bug, like the one that gives you the belly ache.

I get those messages from time to time, too, on this site. I, too, go away and come back to play later. Hope this helps you. I did get the same error on that site that you did. It all hocus pocus, smoke and mirrors anyway. If you stop and think about how the internet works, it is a miracle anything goes anywhere anyway. Remember 20 years ago, 1989, very few people were on computers and even less on the internet and 15 years ago, 1994, more on pcs and a lot more on the internet. Then 10 years ago, remember, we hit the super internet highway - then we crashed! Remember that crash - 1999!

One of things is that your connection isn't from your pc/network provider to this network provider/server. It will get routed through a bunch of network providers and some times one wil be down, but the traffic doesn't get re-routed. It is more cyber stuff that you really want to know about. I am a former pc junkie - they paid me to do that stuff. Now that I am retired - I know what's happening, but I just really don't care!
