and we are all feeling both sad about leaving and excited about going home. It was interesting just how quickly we left the old life back in the US behind. Much last minute shopping is in progress today. I got a couple cotton tops and skirts in the style worn by Westerns who live here, Mexicans don't wear it as much. Very light gauze cottons in vivid colors. I'm also leaving with an idea (finally) for painting my plain white condo in Austin.....Mexican Zen! It will be a background of an as yet undetermined neutral with accent walls in the colors of San Miguel, and lots of space to meet the Zen component. I did notice it's the blue sky that sets off the colors of many of the buildings, don't know about painting ceilings sky blue?

Just about every night we have a gorgeous sunset, so will close with one of those.

Back, back, back in the USA. Love the colors in the pictures. I think your Austin adobe will be great in those colors. They can't help but make you feel alive and happy. carold

and why NOT paint the ceilings blue if that is what would give you pleasure? I have loved your photos and especially the great composition of angles and colors you have shared with us and on your blog. Keep that magic alive!

.

Diana, I just noticed you had a blog! Nice job. I enjoyed my visit. I need to go back and read more...

Just curious - have you had any training in photography? Your pictures are framed beautifully.

Paint! Let your imagination soar! It's only paint and can be fixed easily. When I was first married and lived in a tiny little house (actually it was a remodeled large shed that use to house chinchillas), I painted the two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom over about 3 times each in the year we lived there. Go for it! Post the results!
