Leaving Waterton Lakes, we headed for the Canadian Rockies and Banff National Park.
Approaching the Rockies

Some of the domestic livestock was as interesting as wildlife.

We stayed in Banff at Tunnel Mountain campground. A railroad tunnel was planned through the mountain but never built. The name stuck, though.

This is Olga at a viewpoint.

Mule deer and elk wandered through our campground.

This butt shot is for you, Sharon

Have you ever been close enough to a wild elk to watch it chew its cud? Click on the video.

An old church

At the base of the gondola ride. Beth, Olga, and I took the ride to the top of the mt. The others stayed behind.

Looking up.

At the top you can climb these steps to a historic weather station. The guy who manned the station had no gondola or steps…he had to climb the mountain

A lady who did not speak English took our picture. She understood pointing to the camera.

Maybe this mousy looking thing is a Pika?

Liz, Great photos and the snow really cooled me down. I am sitting here in Tucson, AZ with a temp at 103 degrees on the East side of the TT. Made me feel good seeing you in the parka with the snow. Loving your journey....taking notes as I plan to make the trip one day. Be safe, have fun, keep taking photos! We all are having a great experience with youall. :o

Such a wonderful journey! Photos are breath taking (as I think the altitude might also be, at least for me). No way to thank you enough for sharing. You too Beth. I'm also following your blog.
