Second day

Today Carol, Bob and I drove to Pinos Altos then drove to the St Vincent de Paul Catholic cemtery. I love old cemeteries and this one has so much personality. The baby section is so sad but you can see many of the graves are visited frequently by family which I find touching. Many of the headstones are handmade. In comparison, the Masonic cemetery across the street is boring.

We went back to the campground and Bob BBQ'd some chicken (yum) and a couple of glasses of wine.

Karen, you would love the Gold Country in CA, many, many very old cemeteries. (I know, not as old as the east coast!). But still interesting to visit.

What a great visit you are having; the rest of us may have to come up with an enticing "come see me" gift. Your flamingo glasses seen to do the trick.
Love the photos; older cemeteries are such interesting places. It is a shame that the newer, memory garden type places are replacing them. Since all the markers in the newer ones have to be the same and flat to ground for ease of mowing, they just do not offer the same appeal.
