Finished House - Finally

We had 6 straight days of sunshine so the the house is finally finished. What a job - don't think she (painter) thought it would take so long. And it just sucked up the paint. The next quarter for Menards will show a dip cause we don't need any more paint.
Here are some before and after pics.
front before
front after
side and back before
after
south side before
after
We have even been asked if we want to include our house in the Brown County Home Tour next year - that was a shock. Lady just showed up and knocked on the door. Gave us tickets to this years tour and asked us about next year.
And here is my window. Need to continue grinding, foiling and soldering the border - then I can turn it and solder the other side then frame it. Then start on the 2nd one. I busted some of the border glass and will have to go buy more for next one - ouch$$$$$. It is still laying on the pattern so when finished will look better then this picture.
Keeping out of mischief.

the house is beautiful, what a difference a hundred gallons of paint can do
loved the stained glass project, would love to do that craft myself but of course
there is no time and absolutely no dollars for supplies. I will just enjoy yours.

That did take a while, huh? The trees in the before pics are still bare and everything is nicely filled out and green in the after. Beautiful home! You and hubby must be very proud.
I love the stained glass you are doing. You guys are so artsy fartsy!

Okay, here's the deal. Your house is now so attactive that it looks like an upscale Bed and Breakfast. Now I realise that you can't just jump into that business, but I am perfectly willing to come and lie in bed and be served breakfast. It would be good practice for you. Some days I'll be as sweet as can be, but there is the other kind, so some mornings NOTHING will please me and you will learn how to deal with the less than pleasant guest. When can I start?

Love the house and the window.
Since Sparkle already has a job for the summer, I'd be happy to sub for her in practice run for the B&B start up.

House is gorgeous! So is the stained glass! As for Sparkle: Now that she has had all this practice at her summer jobs, you could put her to work!
If not a B&B, perhaps a few RV pads for distant friends? We can bring our own first B and be happy to trot up to the house for the second B. Who needs to travel with such a gorgeous spot! Now let's see. We'd like -
Full hook-ups of course
Level cement pads
You are putting in a pool, right?
Hot tub
Activity director? Sparkle would be good at that!
etc.
etc.
etc.

What a truly beautiful job! The before and after pics together are super to see!
And your glass window is such a beautiful work of art....I can't wait to see it in place now. I don't know where you get the patience to accomplish so much in so little time, really....in spite of all the rain. You have definitely inspired me to gather my painting supplies so I can paint my house this spring. I have all the paint...just need a ladder I can safely stand on with my dizziness to reach the higher parts of house. That will be my next purchase, after I buy my yearly contract with TracFone.
Sparkle never ceases to crack me up with her coments---I guess she's pretty much back to normal in her job, now!!
I am wondering, actually, what it might cost me to set up a few RV pads here with 30 amp service and water available? Might have to check into that...am thinking some of that roll-out sort-of corrugated heavy duty road-like stuff rather than cement pads. And the electricity might be an expensive venture. My well could provide a little bit of water, but not enough for daily showers or anything like that. Dumping would have to happen in a local campground. Something to investigate!

Absolutely gorgeous!! To much work for me, tho! I'm pretty much a minimilist when it comes to decorating....I figure anything I put out is gonna have to be dusted for the rest of my life, so just how badly do I want it? LOL! I usually don't want it as badly as I thought.

Thanks for the comments - I didn't think it would ever get finished.
To clear up a few things
All the plants are BILL'S he takes care of them - I have a black thumb and they shudder if I even walk by them. He waters them, talks to them, babies them etc. And they respond. He even sprays that stinky deer stuff so they don't get eaten.
Can't turn it into a B&B as believe it or not there are only two bedrooms. However the guest room is always open to all. And Bill is a great cook.
We have plenty of level parking here and a couple of 30amp outlets and water. No sewers though. Again all are welcome - please stop by if you're in the neighborhood.
Sparkle - anytime you'd care to park your bod here it is welcome. We'd be glad to practice on you.

And just WHAT will you practice on Sparkle, Carol
. Inquiring minds want to know.
Your place looks fantastic as well as the stained glass window-to-be. Think DH and I are painted out after 30 years of keeping up an older wood sided home with 52 double hung windows all painted shut with knob and tube wiring. That was a chore, getting them to all work as well as building screens, scraping and painting the trim, inside and out. Each time we loved looking at the finished product-until it was time to do the painting again. We would have stained the wood, but it was already painted and much of it rotted which we had to replace. It sure kept us busy. Shoot, didn't mean to get carried away, when all I meant to say was:
IT'S BEAUTIFUL AND ENJOY!!! carold
