San Miguel de Allende

Our first week in San Miguel has been wonderful, it's a fascinating city. No car, so we walk everywhere, I am learning my way around the Centro district. Everyday I explore new areas, so many beautiful old churches, plazas, courtyards, it would take months to learn the Centro.
The heart of the City is the Parroquia de San Miguel, the "parish church", it is anything but....
There is a huge plaza with no traffic in front of the Parroquia and the Jardin Allende. It's beautifully landscaped with paths and manicured trees.
The balloon vendor is out everyday as there are kids EVERYWHERE. Pai loves to chase birds in the Jardin, sorry to say, she fell and got a fat lip yesterday! Only slowed her down for a few minutes though
The streets are cobblestone with high, narrow side walks. Some are very steep, some flag stone, and some very rough river rock.
Most all the buildings have roof top gardens.
Morning light and a typical window.
Then there is the light at sunset....
This building was glowing, I wasn't the only one snapping pictures!
And finally twilight.....
