My phone started buzzing this morning about 10:44 a.m. to "duck and cover" due to a pending earthquake. Although I never felt any shakng here, I went on the USGS to find that there was a 7.0 earthquake off the coast of Eureka, Ca., with a tsunami warning in effect.

https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/?currentFeatureId=nc75095671&extent=39.8992,-125.54489&extent=40.58371,-123.87497

Under-ocean aftershocks are now up to 16, still too early for damage reports. The tsunami warning has been cancelled, which is good news.

Sue, that is some deep snow on your roof - does your roof shed the snow automatically, or do you need to sweep it?

Anne, I was just reading about that earthquake and the areas effected. Karen could you feel anything as they mentioned areas in Oregon. And Judy good thing you got south when you did.

I am way too far south to feel that.

One interesting fact I did find out when I was at one state park on the coast in Washington state was that they required you to back into sites so that you could get out faster and not block roadways in case on a tsunami. That would work for your home and for other events like fires, as well
