If you have a PayPal account, use extreme caution. It would seem that PayPal no longer supports 2-factor authentication, which is a serious security risk for consumers using their platform.

Thanks for that good information. I never use PayPal because they do not have the controls on them that credit cards do, ie. disputing a charge through your bank instead of some marketing bank.
I am getting irritated by a bunch of stores wanting you to download an app to buy something, like a pizza. Ditto for McDonalds and a lot of the other fast food places. I just don't like adding all that stuff to my phone, when there is no real reason to pre-order something like a hamburger!! And like you, I don't know where the app is coming from or what might be hidden in it.

Another thing that really irks me is that all of these "buy" apps are not for the benefit of the consumer - they are purely for the benefit of the seller/vendor. In effect, you are paying them (by the use of your valuable time - and by using your phone's limited memory to store their app) to grant you the privilege to buy their burger!
Getting off my soapbox now.

I don’t use PayPal either. They, along with other companies are not safe far as I’m concerned. No apps on my phone either other than those I want for purposes other than purchases. I won’t do any transactions from my cell phone either. It’s why I keep a landline phone. I do all my business on that. And my phone is closed captioned so it makes it nice when having conversations with hard to understand people. Lus, since conversations are recorded, I can go back and check info if needed. Any online ordering I happen to do, which isn’t much, is directly on the business website. And nobody has my charge cards on file other than my heating/cooling folks and OnStar for monthly payments. All my monthly bills are paid automatically through my investment company’s bill pay service, so nobody has my account numbers or are withdrawing from them. I pay my credit card bills through my Credit union bill pay as well.
