Holy cow, you just don't see this kind of declaration everyday - especially not here in California.

Well. . . this could certainly get "interesting", as I said earlier.

But I hope not.

And, of course, storms blowing onshore into California from the Pacific Ocean often tend to continue right on across the rest of the country. What hits good old California today, often begins to hit the rest of the country tomorrow.

Fasten your seatbelts, Ladies, it's going to be a bumpy night (LOL - to paraphrase the late, great, Bette Davis).

Yes, it is nothing but rain and more rain where I have been--averaging at least an inch every day.

How is the Oroville reservoir? The Drought Monitor map does not come out until tomorrow and covers only up until Tuesday at 7 am, but it ought to be interesting.

When it rains, it pours! Too much rain too fast is not necessarily a good thing. Flooding, mudslides, rock slides, etc.

Here's hoping everyone can stay safe.

The scary predictions and declarations, certainly fizzled where I am. Rain-0.20 inches in 24 hours and max wind gust 24 mph with steady winds below 6 mph. And please don't listen to national news. Lester Holt on NBC was saying we were having a Bomb Cyclone! NOT- that requires 74 mph winds and no where except very top of Sierras got that! And he said as much as foot of rain- again not! If you are curious about CA weather, go to kcra news app and hear reporters who are right here and are local people.

I am in Felton, CA, near Santa Cruz, and we had 2.95" of rain in the past 24 hours. (Felton and Santa Cruz are south of the Bay Area.) It is just a small drizzle now and will be clear tomorrow until rain starts again on Saturday. We went to the Arcade on the boardwalk yesterday and the ocean looked really nasty from the wind. The river behind the campground is overflowing but not enough to cause us any problems. We are leaving in the morning back to Napa.

Also, my son talked to one of his neighbors yesterday morning who was camped at Bodega Beach, which is north of San Francisco, and they had very strong winds up there. It tore one of his slide toppers--at least 65 MPH.

So, it all depends where you are. Napa had half the rain we did here.
