Back in Texas!!

Postby Fernie » Sat May 02, 2009 4:47 pm

I flew back to Texas last Saturday to relieve my brother who had given me a break staying here with Mary. He is currently on his way to Miama with his wife for a week long cruise. I will be here in Allen until the 19th of May. I bought a round trip ticket this time. I fly home the 19th and head for Illinois the 21st. I have a podiatrist appointment in Decatur with my old polidatrist for new orthodics on Friday, the Alumni Banquet in TH is on Saturday night, the Cemetary Memorial Dinner is on on Sunday put on for the upkeep of the cemetary and my 45th class reunion is on Monday the 25th. It will be one busy weekend. I'll head back to Tennessee then so if any of you are in the area---give me a hollar.

Mary's foot surgeon told her she could start walking last Thursday so she is using a walker. She still uses the wheel chair a lot in the house. She has to go into the hospital for a radioactive implant and will be there 2 days. She goes in the 11th and will come home the 13th. Hope she continues to do well. They will cast her foot for orthodics next Thursday and order her diabetic shoes. The orthodic on the rt. foot will have a toe filler to help stablizer her walking. That the latest here in Allen.

Pee Wee and Flossie Floosie are both in Tennessee packed away. I am starting to miss both of them. I sure wish Flossie Floosie was here to deliver Mary's friend Joe's birthday cake next Thursday. We are going out to eat at Chedders and taking him a Toilet Cake for his birthday. Two years ago when I was here with Mary we fixed him a Kitty Litter cake. He still won't eat Tootsie rolls unless he buys them!!

I went on-line hunting cakes and found the toilet cake. I am going to buy a round angel food cake at Walmart and two rectangular angel food cakes for the tank and frost them. You hollow the round cake out a little and put lemon jello (or maybe lemon pudding because I don't like lemon jello----haven't decided for sure) in the bowl along with some raisens or tootsie rolls warmed and shaped!! We are also buying him items he can use in his bathroom--like a new bowl brush, plunger, room deoderant, TP, bowl cleaner. He will be set. Mary and her friends always make birthdays interesting and different. Pee Wee could deliver it too----if only one of them was here!!! HA HA

I have made the kitty litter cakes, and I LOVE to see people's reactions to them! If possible, can you post a picture of the toilet cake? That sounds like something I might make for this summer! I can probably figure it out just from your description, but a picture would help a lot!

Thanks for the great idea...guess I, too, could go online and look up toilet cake, come to think of it!!

Sorry but I don't have Photo Bucket downloaded on this computer yet and with the problems I have staying connected here at Mary's, I haven't even tried. If you Google Toilet cakes, a bunch will come up. I'm going to make one with the tank. I will make him a blue "padded" toilet seat to set it apart from the while commode!!
