California Rain

Well, all the talk the tv weather people were doing about the coming rain had me dancing.

It did rain a bit here at my house - if one can call it that. Something wet-ish drifted down out of the sky, but not enough to even wet the ground enough to make mud.

My yard still looks like hard-pan, cracks and all.

Dang.

We got 0.18 inches here spread out over entire day plus lots of wind. Hoping for more. DOD get puddles here.

Well, last night about 1:00 a.m. (er. . . I guess that makes it this morning) it really started to pour. I don't know how long it lasted because I fell asleep, but everything this morning looks pretty well soaked, which is a very good thing. Cool temps this morning into the bargain - low 60's.

Velda, you are right. I am also hoping for more. Maybe we will get lucky this year - in the last few years when it rained early in the rainy season, the rains just seemed to peter out after a few small storms.

Hope this is a start to a wet and wild winter. 8-)

Gosh, we got more than that in the desert here last week! Hope you all get more up there.

There is another tropical storm coming up along the west coast of Mexico but it looks like it will turn west sooner than the last one did and probably won't effect us here.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

By tonight we were sitting at 0.39 inches for entire storm. It's a start! And, no it doesn't put the fires out, but helps tamp them down so FF can continue to secure containment lines.
