Awakened this morning to very smoky skies. As far as I can tell, this smoke is from the Mosquito Fire at Forest Hill, Ca. About 60 miles east southeast of me.
Velda, if I'm getting smoke, you must be getting quite a lot.
Are you ok there?

Today is our second day of early in day smoke. Yesterday it cleared during late afternoon, today I'm not sure what it will do. I'm only about 30 miles from this nasty, very smoky fire. It's been so smoky it's interfered with flying water dropping tankers and with mapping the fire. Latest figures they are estimating over 25,000 acres, just 24 hours after mapping showed 6400 acres! Yesterday it jumped the American River tributary and headed south, causing evacuation of Georgetown, near where I was a GS counselor in college summers. It's 103° right now, down I think 2-3 ° from same time yesterday and is supposed to be our last 100° day. AQI holding at 146- unhealthy air.

Wow! That sounds like a really fast moving fire!
The Fairview fire in Hemet is still going at 28K acres and 56% contained.
