Trip with Grandson

Home from week in SD with Grandson. Had a WONDERFUL time! We saw so much and it was all new to him, which made it even better for me, as I have been there before. Weather was hot, but on this trip we stayed in a regular campground with electric, last time I was here I stayed in the National forest campground. It helped to be able to cool down the trailer with A/C, nights were cool which was great. He helped set up, take down, made the campfires and helped drive to and from. We went to Mt. Rushmore, Bear Country, Custer State Park, Mammoth site in Hot Springs, Wind Cave, Dinosaur Museum in Hill City, Deadwood and the Badlands. We saw all the reenactments at Deadwood and stayed for the trial of Jack McCall, the man who shot Wild Bill. It was a lot of laughs! Lots of motorcycle around, glad we got out before the start of Sturgis. Ryker took tons of pictures and said he had a great time. He was amazed at the rock formations on the Needles drive and the herds of Buffalo in Custer and the Badlands. He bought gifts for his family, and texted his little sister every night. Hated to see the trip end, but maybe I can get him on another trip next summer!

What an awesome place to take him. So beautiful and awe inspiring. I think it won't be hard for you to get him to join you on another trip.

Rosemary, your sounds sounds wonderful. You are a great example for your grandson. He will tell his children about the trip with his grandmother and maybe around a campfire.
