Traveling the Natchez Trace

Good afternoon gals, Sunday here. Just finished up the Trace. From Mississippi, to Nashville, Tennessee. 440, miles. Lovely parkway. Many pull offs. A lot of history. Speed limit is 50…My choose was 45.. what’s the rush. Camping along the way. No Reservations. No hook ups, first come first stay. Was not full every nite but very close. Before my adventure I met up with Martha. Lovely gal. Stayed at her State Park, not far from her home. We advertised out to Avery Island…..Tabasco…..the next day we found Lafayette Acadian Cultural Center..and Village. Another wonderful day….History History… Before Louisiana, I came across 10… found Biloxi, Mississippi..$$$$$… yea no $$$ but was fun to people watch… Before that it was The Shed…best BBQ…in Mississippi.. All for now.. Be Safe… Travel some Be Safe

The Natchez Trace is a wonderful drive, lots of great places to hike and loads of history. I enjoyed it several years ago. Ended up in Biloxi and spent several days there. Really enjoyed the history of the Trace and Biloxi.

CArol L, introduced me to the trace about 12 years ago after meeting at the Nashville GTG. I really didn’t want to head back to Ohio and this crazy traveling woman I had just met said she woul introduce me to the nearby Trace for a couple of days till she was needed back. She got me me started and then headed back north while I continued wandering south to its end. Women on this site taught me or modeled inspiring behavior that allowed me through the years to follow the attention getting call equal to “squirrel” for dogs. My other favorite motto was Sharon M’s “it was only another 500 miles” so I figured I would go……. Life is shorter, Enjoy all the adventurous distraction of interest, wonderful kindred people, and opportunities of exploration of knowledge, beauty and awe that you can. Hummm…. I think think that is sort of what you and I did in New England a few years back, too…..

I too loved The Trace. Drive slow to enjoy the sights. Glad to hear you are enjoying your self.

Love the Trace, even better than the more heavily known Blue Ridge Parkway! Easy driving, very scenic, lots of historical and scenic places to pull off on.
