Need finishing touches. The cabinet in the dining area is too big for the space, but it is a piece of my previous life that I love. Wasn't expecting to have it so table and chairs are wrong shade but oh well.

Love it. And I love that you have the sentimental cabinet and who cares that the table and chairs aren't the same stain.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Sheila, since it's big and since Monica had it filled, I was going to let her keep it. They really didn't have a good spot for it and Alan finally said he'd like it gone - I don't blame him!

when we moved out of the house there is stuff that we farmed out one of them I'd dearly love back but think dd has a liking for it ... I'm glad that you have a spot for it

Looks wonderful Anita. Love your comforter set. It reminds me of my beach painting. You’ve got plenty of time to make it your “Home Sweet Home” and hopefully they will soon get that sod installed outside too.

So nice to be able to take a breath and then "tinker" as Karen refers to those extra additions and touches as you continue making it all yours. Congratulations.

Very nice, thanks for posting the photos. I always enjoy looking at photos of people's homes (I think maybe because I need motivation to get mine cleaned up!).

I'm glad you kept your hutch. Who cares if the table and chairs don't match? I have two end-table-like cabinets that are made of particleboard covered with some kind of wood-grain-looking plastic sheeting. The doors of these things "kind of" look like they are made of carved wood - but they are actually made from molded plastic.

If I thought about it too much (which I don't ;) ) I might realize that these two things are really, really ugly.

But they belonged to my mother, I remember it was a "big deal" in our family when she first bought them (they were a major upgrade from what we had at the time) - and she has been gone for nearly 35 years.

When I look at them, I think of her.

That makes 'em "keepers". :D

Love the hutch. Put a tablecloth on the table. You could paint the chairs???

Looks really nice Anita. Love the bedspread especially.

When I was shopping to furnish my townhouse, I had nothing but a bedroom set, one decorator in a store said being "matchy matchy" is out. So your dining room is right in style!

Anita, this looks nice! The cabinet is very cool! Is that a fireplace in the TV stand? Also love your bedding set! I hate moving but I do like to make a new place my own by decorating.
