She was absolutely amazing- This definitely defines the saying that can't tell a book by its cover. The open mouth response from the judges and the stand-up ovation from the audience matched exactly how I felt. She brought tears to my eyes too. carold

Susan Boyle is getting a lot of media attention right now. and it's well deserved. I am sure we'll hear more from her. I'd buy a cd! Absolutely loved seing the judges' shocked faces when she began to sing. I've watched the YouTube video several times myself and enjoy it each time.

I'd read about Susan, and seen her name in the news , but hadn't heard her sing! WOW! Thanks for that link and the opportunity to hear her. I suspect she will really go places, and that her DREAM will most certainly come true! The shock on Simon's face was worth the whole clip!!
Now I'm off to get some hankies!

Thanks so much for the link, I too, enjoyed Simon's surprised look. He always looks so smirky and bored, even though most of the time, I do agree with some of his comments.
Except he is so hurtful at times, I'm sure his mother tried, to make him a more compassionate person. Poor soul failed!!!
I very much enjoyed hearing Susan sing, and Paul Potts, another great surprise.

I just looked ... and did a little math... and the four Susan Boyle YouTube videos have been viewed about 36 million times. I contributed a few of those myself!

I've just got to see it again. I read a little bit about her in the paper. It seems she has been taking care of her elderly mother who died quite recently. She says she has never been kissed. It sounds like she devoted her life to her Mom and now its her time. I wish her all the best. it will be interesting to see what fame will do to her.

I have become addicted to that video. Don't know how many times I've played it past few days.
In 1999 she recorded "Cry Me A River" for a charity fund raiser. Only 1000 copies were made. Someone came up with a copy. here's the link

It's hard to relate that voice coming from that woman. Kinda like when Gomer Pyle (Jim Neighbors) sang.

I will admitt that Jim Nabors name came to mind after seeing the tape. Ever wonder on the past 'surprise finds" where they are now since they are Britons finds? and ever wonder what simon would say if say Jim Nabors came out on stage or some of the other 'greats"

It makes my heart heavy to see that people think "talent" has to come in a package of ... slim, pretty/handsome. There was no reason to think that she wouldn't have a great voice. But,...... they did, and there was eye-rolling etc. if you have seen her interviews you know that she is perfectly delightful. She is not sporting a big ego, and is very down to earth. How refreshing! I can't wait to by a cd!
