Where's Liz?

Ok, I survived a week with grandchildren…barely. Still don’t have the aftermath of housework and laundry done, but thought I should check in here. Got a lot of catching up to do I see.

Here are a couple more pics from our mini FL gtg with Soos, Pete, and Bob from the ORS forum. Enjoyed meeting all of them…great people.

Jose, our waiter kindly took our group photo.

This one’s for YOU:

The next day I left for GA to spend time with my dd and two gds camping at Strom Thurmond Lake. This was dd’s first time towing her new TT. A friend from church helped going to the cg, but leaving she was on her own. She did pretty good. Here’s a short video.

Had to take a picture of the “first dump” too.

Roe had fun playing with gd’s new puppy. Resting in this pic.

Two nice days and the weather turned cold, rainy and windy w/lake wind advisories (20-30mph winds). Camping was no longer fun, so we left a day early and spent our last day doing all the laundry we created. I came back to FL with the two gds so they could visit their other grandparents. The youngest one threw up in the car on the way, so had to shampoo the car after the 8 hour drive.

The next day I picked up my two grandsons in Tampa for a three day stay at my house as they were also on Spring break last week. They spent a lot of time playing hard in the pool, video gaming, and squabbling. The youngest one wet the bed. They both scrubbed up good for Easter Sunday though, and look almost angelic, don’t ya think?

So, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it…

Sounds like a wonderful gk visit  You never know what might happen. We lived in Tampa almost 36 years before retiring and becoming fulltimers. MIL still there and that is one reason we winter in Sarasota. Now you can start planning your next trip. carold

You got the only photo of the lobster, Liz! Thanks for posting your pics! Jose got a good one of us all.

Sounds as if you had your hands full with your grandkids, for sure! I LOVE the picture of the girl doing her first dump! What does DD mean? Is that her name?

Great pic of the lobster, Liz,..... and those are great looking GKs!

Soos,... DD is "Dear Daughter"..... GKs... "Grand Kids".... DH .... Dear Husband..... and on and on and on,..... it's how it's used in the context of the sentence that gives the clue.

Been wondering what happened to you, Liz. Glad to see you back with us - and with great pics and stories! Sounds like your daughter is enjoying her new TT and her maiden voyage was a success.

Soos, you just hate those abbreviations, don't you? One day, you'll know what they all mean whether you want to or not :)

Great photos. Thanks for checking in; I had just inquired this morning about what happened to you. Thought you might have had one too many lobsters.

Know what you mean about cleaning up the aftermath of company; I had 5 adults + 2 small children for several days. They left Easter afternoon and I haven't even started the laundry yet.

I don't know about you, but I'm going to be much more careful about using abbreviations around Soos, or at least provide a translation in parentheses. The Bible tells me if someone speaks in an unknown tongue, there should be an interpreter. It's better to speak 5 words with my understanding, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue....so others can understand also. Soos, I've been duly chastised, and I have no idea what you said...

I can't remember what in heck I said, either, Liz!!!! :)

I just can't fathom why my son should become DS----when he is sometime SS (sad son) HS (happy son) OS (obnoxious son) WS (wonderful son) and on and on......why always with a D? Nobody on earth can always be DEAR!!!! Son only has 3 letters in it......DS has two. Savings of ONE letter???? What about SRMS? (stark raving mad son)

And actually it was a response to Beth's and Cedar's posts...not to yours, as I really thought DD was your friend's name. I figured if she was your daughter, you might have said so!! Sigh....everybody is with these abbreviations but me, and, I must say, I am making no attempt to figure them out!

I'm with you, Soos. I know OMG, LOL, ROFL and that's about the extent of it and I am content with that.

Grandsons are looking a bit 'reluctantly angelic'!!! Like, "OK OK, enough pictures, Grandma!"

Nice looking family, Liz! It sounds as if you had a busy time with them all! I can't WAIT to have some young grandkids to take camping with me. I miss those days with my own kids when we could spend endless hours in the woods, barefooted and sometimes bare-butted, all summer long at the pond.

C D PUPPIES?
L M N NO PUPPIES!
S D R
C M P N?

Read it out loud and it will make sense.

HAHAHA! My grandfather taught us that, with a bit of a twist----and YES, I DO understand those letters! We said,

A B C D puppies?

L M N O puppies.

S A R 2------C M P N?

Who taught this to you? Always fun to know where such traditional weirdnesses come from!
