An email to Shirlv

I try to avoid the news but it isn’t always possible. What I do read upsets me. Can’t post thoughts on this site. Heaven forbid I say the wrong thing to a friend or family member. I sent an email to me because I am the only one I know with any sense. It was good hearing from a friend and very cathartic. I know I am alone too much.

Oh, Shirl, I hear you loud and clear! I just read 'news' and the fact the Rudy Giuliani farted isn't newsworthy in my book!!
I knew I would spend most of time alone when I made the decision to live here - especially in the winter. I don't think I've accomplished anything other than prepare for the cold since I came to this park 5 weeks ago. Even my genealogy isn't speaking to me.
Hang in there!!

Shirl, I totally understand. It's why I feel guilty posting on here about work, but it's all I've got and not what I was hoping for. I think many of us are in the same boat. And an email to self makes perfect sense to me.

The email got pretty nasty but I agreed with the sender.

Hey, Shirl!
I hear you! I understand that you might not wish to post strong feelings here on the forum - but if you are in the mood, PM me. I'm all ears, and you might even find in me someone with a kindred spirit!

Anne, thanks for the invitation but it’s mentally better for me not to dwell on politics. As the email said “you voted, did your civic duty, now walk away”. I think I will watch Christmas cartoons tonight.

Shirl & Anita, beth & Anne I hear you! Steve & I have been basically living like hermits since the virus hit. I talked to a friend in md. this afternoon, and at the church I play for where my friend goes, they're having their Christmas eve service outside, and as Shirl knows, it's chilly there. There are days when the highlight of my day is doing laundry. Friday afternoon, there was a band that came to the resort & gave a concert, but it was held outside. Steve & I left about 15 minutes early because the mosquitoes were trying to carry me away. These are not fun times we're living in.
