Todays Temperature - 110 and counting :-(

After the salesman guy had gone (see previous post) I decided to go outside to check my plants. The blast of heat that hit when I opened the door was like a blast furnace. I checked my thermometer on the front porch (its always in the shade) the temp showed between 110 - 111. Degrees Fahrenheit. At 3:30 in the afternoon. On September 30.

I decided my plants could wait.

Geez Louise. Forty years ago, when I first moved to this area, we would have had a lot of rain, and our first hard freeze, by now.

This is ridiculous. Between the unremitting heat, and the fires, and the ashfall, we have had here over the last three summers - every single year - I'm again thinking it is time to move.

But to where, exactly? That's the problem. :(

I wish I could answer the where to question. I definitely can't. That said, I would have to get away from there with what you've been saying for this and previous years. Hang in there!
