A Day in Old Silver City

The wind mostly died down so drove into the old section of Silver City. Its a very artsy, kinda old hippy little town. I love the way they've painted many of the old buildings. The only things I bought was some fudge and a refrigerator magnet I couldn't resist.

The curbs in town are really, really high. I was told it was to keep the stores from flooding when it rains. If you fall off the curb here you'll kill yourself.

The only thing I bought - you can see why I couldn't resist.

No assembly required? Tee hee hee! Or as Sharon would say...snort. I think the building painted in colored blocks is imitating the artist Mondrion...anybody with an artistic bent know if that's right? Love seeing what people are visiting. We now have your wind here. 45 mph gusts. I'm feeling a tad nauseous.

Wasn't me that was laughing at her! It's not like I've ever put something together backwards, even after reading the directions......and if you come visit me, please refrain from looking at the top of the cd holder!!

As I said in another thread, rehab, has NOT done you a bit of good, last picture, makes my point.

Looks like a nice town, I love the artistic look of it, the color would make a happy place to visit. Hope you
really enjoy your stay there.

Thanks for giving us an idea of what its like in the town.

Sharon, didn't mean to imply that you were laughing at Karen. I just like it when you type...snort...it's so descriptive....

To keep the stores from flooding when it rains?! Geez, I hope your CG is high and dry. When is the rainy season?

Love the colorful buildings.
Tho they look dangerous, those tall curbs would have been nice to have around here tonight during our nearly 2" of rain in less then 2 hours.

Thanks for the pics. When we drove into Silver City on one of our trips, my DH saw a book store for sale. I had to push him quickly thru town and get on the road before the checkbook came out. We left with only a scratch on the side of our MH to remind us of that visit. carold
