Problem, Need Help

Hi Women Rver's...
I've been putting this off, trying to come to a solution but without help there isn't one. And this virus has really brought the problems home. Should anything happen to me, this forum would disappear. And I simply can't be the only person responsible. At least one, preferably two or more, need to step up and share the responsibilities so that should something happen, others have all the control to keep this going while everyone wants to keep it.
I recently received billing for the forums' hosting. That hosting account is a business one I need to drop. Before I get new hosting it has to be with at least one other person on the account so that the scenario of it disappearing won't happen. If I can't get anyone or two or more to do this, the forum will disappear in a couple months. That's not what I want. But I see no other option.
Give me thoughts, ideas?

I am not in a position to take on the responsibility since I don't post all that often but I would be willing to partially assist with financing for a time to see if there is still enough interest from others.....

I can help financially but I don't know enough about computers to do something that technical.

I appreciate the financial help. Moving hosts or even staying at the same with a different plan, costs shouldn't be bad.
But, I will say again, I need at least one, preferably two people who will put their names on the hosting package and be willing to share with checking on the forum.

I know that hat there are several on here that aren’t on FB and the lost of the forum would hit them the hardest but with dwindling numbers and the multiple ways many of us do have for staying in contact this is a serious question to consider.

I am willing to help financially but don’t think I have the skills to do the work. Can you train? Can you give us idea how much work it takes?

Yes, I could train. I honestly haven't been keeping up with some things. Nothing is hard, but since I don't even use a computer anymore, it's harder for me to do some things that would be much easier on a computer. That said, it's more of being on at least once a day, and checking (like combining multiple morning coffee posts, approving new members, watching for posts of new members etc). And, yes, anyone can learn it. But it also requires being willing to share ownership of the forum hosting. And I say I'd rather there be at least 3 people because, we're all getting older and things like this virus can effect us more... And I'm looking at if something happened to me, and the hosting company shut the forum down when no payment is received, it's gone forever. Also with more people, no one person has to feel responsible all the time.

Beth, next question. What is the cost? I don’t use my computer either, I use iPad. Sounds like that’s a challenge .

The iPad is probably easier than my phone, but no guarantee. The cost will depend on what hosting package is taken. I used to have it hosted on a business hosting plan and businesses I had hosted covered our cost. Last year about this time I closed out my last business account and because I screwed up and didn't get this site moved, I ate the higher cost of that plan for the year. I can't afford that. Moving it down to it's own plan would take the cost way down and a few people contributing when the cost is known would easily cover that.

Hello, Beth.
So sorry to hear this news. Your forum has been a very large part of my online life for many years.
I am willing to contribute financially.
Thank you.

I am on my computer (which is a real laptop) for several hours a day, so I could do it, as long as someone else offered to help. However, you will be around for a while, probably a long long while, Beth, so I will be your first volunteer.
So, who works on a computer and could be the second volunteer?? Step up, ladies.

WOW, thank you, Judy. For those who don't know, Judy has been helping some for the past couple years. I know her class load can be overwhelming sometimes and am very thankful she's stepping up to get more involved. But I do need one more.

I really think the secret to making this doable is to document what needs to be done and when. If we did this right, with graphics as I have done with the process for accepting new members, almost anyone could help out. I can do this with the software I have that I used to use for documenting processes for the companies I did work for.
Here is the first page of instructions on how to approve a new member, so some of you can see how easy it can be with the right instructions. (And I keep forgetting how to do things, so I really did this for myself.) I don't use a tablet, so I have no idea what can be done with one or not. So, could any of you follow instructions like these?

things like this do make us ponder the what if's .... I wish I was better with the computer and I would volunteer to be the third. Perhaps in a day or so someone else that is more computer literate will volunteer
