My daughter and I are going to the Alabama coast. We aren’t RVing. I want to take my dog to the nearest pet friendly beach. We might consider going to the MS beaches. Thanks for sharing your experiences. As I’m writing this I’m sad because RVing had to end for me for health reasons. Hi to all, Nancy

Glad you're here, if not with an rv. You're part of this family. I hope others help you with places in that area to go. It's been too long since I've been to that area to help. Have fun and don't be a stranger.

Nancy, so very good to see your post!!! If you have been reading, I am not traveling anymore because of pulmonary issues!
It has been a long time since I have been to either the Al/MS beaches. Because I can ‘t give you any info, doesn’t mean we can’t write.
I do miss traveling too...very much. I was looking into train trips, but not now. I will not fly nor go anywhere there are crowds. I still go to the grocery store and a CostCo. However, that too may end. Wearing a mask is only for those that are all ready sick...it will not protect one from contacting the virus.
Please post once and awhile so those who “knew” you can keep up!
See Tina’s post awhile back!

Hi Lyn. I, too, have read this same statement in many places, but it is still a bit of a head-scratcher for me.

A question I am asking myself: If masks don't protect a person from contracting the virus. . . then why do medical professionals wear masks, particularly in a contagious environment? Why do they wear a mask at all, if masks are not effective protection?

Probably all masks are not created equal - i.e., surgical masks vs. the N-95 masks (medical professionals that I see mostly are wearing the N-95 masks).

Perhaps one (or two!) of our medically-experienced members (Velda? Karen?) can shed some light on this.

Thank you.

Anne

The n-95 can protect. That's not the general masks people are purchasing. However, unfortunately, people have been stealing them from clinics and hospitals putting medical personnel in danger.
