Tina, I just spent the afternoon with a neighbor from the old neighborhood. She lost her husband a year ago and is having a hard time socializing alone. Her son suggested she travel and she said she couldn’t alone. I told her about your trip to Scotland. You and your tired feet are her hero.
Safe travels

Tell her there are several neat sites on Facebook for Solo Women travelers. Catherine even found the Solo women travelers over 60 one. Either way it reminds dreamers of so many possibilities.

Another great organization that provides travel for solos is Roadscholar. They are at
https://www.roadscholar.org/.
They advertise their travel is educational, but mostly it is tours and history. There are also trips that focus on crafts such as painting and such.

Judy, Road Scholars is a tour group and I know that they are wonderful, educational and informative, have a small group size, and all the meals are covered in the price, etc. I think Peggy has gone with them before. I met one tour group in Silver River in Florida once. The Solo Women Travel Groups I was referring to are just closed online forums of women sharing their thought, dreams, fears, experiences and encouragement with one another...only about Solo travel. Their topics and experiences cover about anything from International travel to traveling around the US. Many of its members are from other countries or currently live in other countries. It reminds me if our group only on international steroids covering all sorts of travel methods. They don't care if the travel you are exploring is on your own or with a formal group....only that you are traveling solo when you are doing it. It is a nice next step for anyone interested in traveling but without their house on wheels.
