July's Adventures in NYC

Postby BirdbyBird » Sat Aug 03, 2019 11:47 am

It took me awhile to get my act together. I didn't take many pictures but found many things memorable with or without pictures. Glad I ventured out of my comfort zone to experience the big city but I am not tempted to live there. I still prefer paddling the kayak across a glassy lake at eventide....with a slightly damp dog resting her head on a gunnel.

What a good story of your trip. Last time I was in NYC was 1974. I'd go back only if I had a tour guide like yours! Thanks for Shari g your experience.

Nice commentary. I like visiting the big cities, too. Once upon a time I thought I'd like living in Chicago or New York. That train long passed. In my previous visits to NYC, I'd never made it to Ellis Island so my only rv excursion (staying at Liberty RV Park in New Jersey) that was my highest priority. Sad and wonderful and very worth it for me. I could possibly do another couple days staying at that park. But like all big cities, that is more than enough time for me now.

Thanks to your daughter for giving you this experience.

I so enjoy your writing... it was fun to read
I can't claim to have been in a big city... Chicago once San Francisco once LA once
Salt Lake City is more my speed and it has even gotten too big
