MARCH 22, 2001

Here is what was happening on this date, March 22nd, 2001!! Some of the pictures were during the storm, and some after, before plowing.

Image

Birdbath on front deck with ruler in it.

Image

View out back window after 18 hours of blizzard----that's my brown van mostly covered out there!

Image

Car and snowbanks during plowing procedures. Blue van is off to the right. (I had two vans back then---one road registered for camping, and one just for an extra bedroom!) My Escort wagon is facing us.

Image

Looking off toward driveway----those posts sticking up are the tops of the split rail fence! Top horizontal rails are about 4 feet high, or more, and are totally buried.

So, I guess today's little dusting of snow isn't so bad!

I'm cold just looking at all that snow. I would have a very hard time living in snow country. But I love the photos, so keep posting them.

I went to college in KY. My freshman year there was a big snow storm - about 18". Being from AL where schools routinely closed for almost any snow event, I assumed no classes and went back to my warm bed. Didn't learn until late afternoon that no classes were cancelled. I was horrified that officials expected us to get out in all that cold, wet, slick stuff. Took me a while to learn to walk in it, never mastered driving in snow or ice. I envy those who have mastered that task. Fortunately we do not get enough snow around here for that skill to be required for me.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!
