Anybody find a really great mattress topper out there? I’ve been looking. Not a big fan of Memory Foam, but that’s pretty much what there is. Thinking maybe I might get a couple inch one and then a nice Pillow Top overfilled. Mattress pad for on top. Thry have some toppers at Walmart, Kohl’s and another store here, but I need Queen Short and hate to have to buy a Queen one and cut half a foot off, especially if it has a cover on it.

I bought a pillow top mattress several years ago, and after about six months the "pillow top" wasn't a pillow anymore, more like a smashed-flat pancake. I went out and purchased a 4" memory foam topper for it (had never had memory foam before) and it has been wonderful, and the memory foam has held up really well. Amazingly comfortable. I love it.

I am probably about due for another new mattress, but would not buy a pillow top again. And you have to be pretty careful and check out the reviews on the memory foam, because all memory foam toppers are not alike.

Good luck, and happy sleeping! :D

We have the 4" memory foam topper on our king size bed that we got from Amazon. Now the bed sits 36" off the floor so I sort of hop into bed, but we love it. Hope you found something you love just as well.

There are gel memory foam toppers now that don't get too warm, some even stay real cool. I have just a two inch topper on my mattress but my mattress is also partially memory foam. My topper has a cover that is removable which is nice for washing. Check reviews on whatever you are looking at.

Here is the mattress I bought...

The topper I got several years ago but don't know the brand but thinking it is Spa Sensations.

when we first got the 5th wheel (it's a 2007) we got a memory foam topper for it as we had heard that
rv mattresses were notoriously uncomfortable and a mattress cover over that loved it the mattress wore out before the topper. Had some friends give me a air mattress a couple years ago still don't like it want to get a new mattress think part of the reason I don't like it is the size it's too big for the platform which is King but it just doesn't fit can't tuck the sheets in...one day I will get me a new one but don't know what size other than King to fit the platform... not all beds are made the same I guess. Guess my problem is the end I can't remember how much hung over am sure there was some so do I go and get a mattress at the store or one made for RV's and go the route of the topper again?

I found a topper and going to try it. On order and will be here in couple weeks or sooner. This company makes them when you order them, so they are custom made. They make toppers and mattresses in all shapes and configurations. www.mattressinsider.com. Really nice to deal with and have a great return, refund policy. Found out about it through the RV Exterior/Interior Group I belong to on Facebook. Any of you looking for ideas for remodeling your rigs or whatever, check this group out. It’s fantastic. Anne, that topper you bought was on my radar screen too. It has a lot of good reviews.

Shelia, store bought mattresses are not the best for RV’s due to their weight and also size dimensions. Not that you can’t use them. But what you have to do is measure your platform to get the exact size first. You can go to a regular mattress store if you want, find a mattress you like and have them order one to your exact size. Read the website I posted up above, they have a wealth of information about RV mattresses and the RV Exterior/Interior Group is a great place to find out info too.
