My "Christmas Jones" book: #1 New Release on Amazon!

Really surprised about this!

Not sure how this happened, but my new children's book, Christmas Jones, has been selected as "#1 New Release in Children's US Western Historical Fiction".

https://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Jones-Anne-Parr-ebook/dp/B07PLLJZHQ/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=christmas+jones&qid=1552958816&s=books&sr=1-2

I'm sure this will change soon - these ratings on Amazon change very frequently (sometimes hourly!) - but for now I am VERY EXCITED!! :D :D :D

If anyone else here would like a free download of the book, please PM me.

Thanks.

Anne

Thanks, Sheila, Beth and Velda!

I guess I maybe get my 15 minutes, anyway. It won't last.

If nothing else, getting a book published was (and still is) always just a kind of a "bucket list" thing for me.

One thing checked off the ol' "list", lots more things to go.

Congratulations! It takes determination to, as Nick Russell says, keep your butt in the chair and write. Dreams are dreams, bucket lists are just lists, writing takes work and perseverance. Enjoy the sparkle all you can and then I figure you probably want to sit back down and work on some of those other ideas that are rolling around in your head and heart.......

Hurrah! (I need a fireworks gif here)

Yes, the "fame" passes quickly -- but the book is always there, and people will enjoy it decades from now. Sometimes it might even make a difference in their lives. The book is a great gift you have given the world.

Time for rejoicing. :D

Wonderful!!! Except you should be selling copies instead of giving them away free.

I see a Newberry Award in your future. :D

Thanks, Tina! You are totally 100% correct. I think one of the hardest parts of writing is to just sit there and DO it!

Thanks! I'm not at all sure about the "great gift" part of it, but you are very kind to say so. Thank you. :D

Judy, thank you. I am not at all sure about the [gasp!] Newberry Award part. LOL. Definitely not going to hold my breath on that one. :?

Hey - as for giving them away? I say why not? My friends on here have been reading my meanderings for years, and jumping in to answer any questions I might have the courage to ask - from RV living, to just plain old life in general.

Time for me to return the favor.

Judy, Private Message (PM) me if you would like a copy of the Kindle version. The Kindle version has color illustrations, the paperback version does not.

Thanks to all of you, you have really made my day!! :D

Anne, I really enjoyed "Christmas Jones". You did a spectacular job. I could even forget the age group it was written for. That's saying a lot because I often feel books written for some age groups are written "down". I remember as a voracious reader as a child, I'd be so disappointed in any book I didn't need the help of a dictionary at various points. And, yes, I had to use the dictionary... My Mom's rules lol. I enjoyed your book now and know I would have then. Kudos.

Thank you so very much for reading it, Beth. Much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it!! Since you mentioned it, I was aiming for the 7 - 12 age group.

Question: (I am curious). I really tried to "tone down" the language so it would not be difficult for young readers. I would be interested to know what words drove you to the dictionary. :o  (Confession: I am a BIG fan of dictionaries).

I know there are a couple of corrections that need to be made to the text (easy to make changes/updates in a Kindle book), I am compiling a list of changes that I will do when next I update it.

Maybe I need to also change those "sticky" words you found. Velda, did you find any sticky words? I would be interested to know about any "dictionary words" either of you may have found. Suggestions, too, are appreciated. :D

Thanks!

Anne
