Sea Glass and rock tumbling..

I'm watching the Travel channel and they are collecting sea glass. I was curious if sea glass could be put in a rock tumbler to shine it up? Or perhaps it's shiny enough?

Lenora, I found this site with FAQ on rock tumblers. They say you can tumble glass - the process is a little different .
I bookmarked this site, lots of good tumbling info :D

Sea Glass is glass that has been de-shined. It gets a matt look with no rough edges. I've been collecting it at Port Lavaca. If it still had some shine I tossed it back in to let the sand do its work. If it was fresh sharp glass though I put it in the trash. The water at Port Lavaca is filled with rough shells, mainly oysters, so the sea does a good job there.

Sprakle, I did see online where they call some of the sea glass 'frosted' and they make jewelry from those as well. I actually like that look, too.
I also read that you can take freshly broken glass, tile, ceramics etc and tumble them. If you 'purchase' sea glass you may be buying man made glass so you have to be careful as it sounds expensive to buy and not be truly from the sea.
