Techie Frustrations

The forum wasn't my only technological frustration recently. About 6 weeks ago I literally baked my cell phone. I discovered it fairly early. Cooled it down and so was hoping a new battery would be a fix. (My phone still has a replaceable battery). So I ordered a battery that showed it would take two weeks to arrive and babied the phone that kept overheating. Two weeks, then three passed with the vendor telling me to be patient. I agreed to be patient to 4 weeks when I demanded a refund, which I got, along with being told to keep the battery when it finally arrived. So I ordered another phone, which came quickly. Then I discovered it uses a different sized SIM card and AT&T told me to go into a store. Before I could do that the missing battery showed up. So I decided to keep the old phone working through the end of this workamp season then switch phones when I switch to a different service... Going to drop my DirectvNow and cut way back and save money on the phone as I'm not going to continue doing web building, etc after next spring.

All well thought out. Oh, but I had taken the cover off the old phone to help it stay cooler and hadn't replaced it. Wouldn't you know today I dropped the phone and the screen cracked. Cover is back on lol.

After that I decided to take another gander at the forum problems. Voila, success! Maybe my techie problems are over, at least for now. Lolol

Oh, Beth, that's terrible!
I hope the old phone can limp along until you're ready to switch to a new carrier.
And remember JudyB & I both volunteered to help with the backup of the forum if you can write up some instructions for us when you get a chance to breathe. I'm sure things are hectic there now - since you mentioned Sturgis is starting this week so this can wait a bit.
Hang in there!
Your forum family has your back (just wish we could help relieve some of the techie pressures on you too). ;)

Aw gee Beth, this hadn’t Been your year as far as techie is concerned. I renenber you had issues with the work computer this spring too. I know the feeling as I dropped my IPad and cracked the Glass. Had a new glass, thicker than the old one put on and now the home button won’t work right. They finally downloaded an app that has a home button in it, so I can continue to use the pad. Guess it’s time to start saving for a new Pad  There are days when technology leaves a lot to be desired.....
