What a great day. Plans are meant to be changed/broken... And today that was perfect. Marnie (one of the workampers) and I took a trip to Custer State Park first.
1st buffalo sighting:

1st big horn sheep sighting:

1st baby buffalo sighting:

The donkeys were just released back into the park Thursday. Thanks to 4 donated back to the park from the same stock, there are currently 8 in the fields. One female donated back is pregnant and one donated donkey is a male, so hopefully some others might have babies yet this season.

Look closely. There are 4 babies in this pic!

We also saw Pronghorns and white tail deer in the park.

After a lunch break in Custer we headed to Mt. Rushmore.

Goats have an area near Mt Rushmore they are known to hang out. We checked it out before entering. We looked in that direction leaving and almost missed this guy to or immediate left right at the exit.

It was a fabulous day.

Looks like things are returning to normal after the fires. Glad most of the larger animals survived. You got to see quite a few of them today!

Great pics. Nature is returning nicely after the fires. Wish I were there to see the babies. Great news on the burros too.
