Rand McNally just dropped an email touting their latest in the GPS market. They call it "Over DrYve". It doesn't make coffee, so don't get too excited. I am a Garmin Girl!! I can see it causing accidents just like cell phones. Technology is moving on!

I loved my Garmin and hate the TomTom my son gave me. I can't figure out how to get from one page to another without almost starting over.

Me, too! But you have to watch any GPS and use a map as a supplement. Mine has occasionally tried to take me up driveways or onto non-existent roads. I usually check Google Maps or a real map the night before I go somewhere. I do this to look for things I might want to stop at on my way. It also helps me identify when the GPS wants to do something nutty, like encouraging me to follow a dirt road for a hundred miles that is right alongside a freeway!
Mostly the Rand-McNally is nice because it has a big screen. It also keeps me from going under low bridges and such.
I will warn you that it is a complex GPS and takes a while to learn to use, but some of the benefits like finding campgrounds near you or your route or helping you find out what gas stations, fast food, and other things are at upcoming exits makes it worth the extra cost.

I am happy with my Tom Tom but I use the Google maps as well I like to look at an Atlas just to see the whole picture before I start.
