I loved that tour. Wish we had something like that resettlement today for our homeless. Thanks Liz. Lyn

Thanks Liz. Interesting post I can't imagine what would have happened to our country without him.

That is so interesting. Mel and I sailed on FDRs USS Potomac, his Presidential yacht for several hours a couple of years ago with our RV friends and a group of fellow Navy veterans. It was interesting to see the bed he slept on, the chairs where he sat, and the wheel chair accessible elevator he used a rope pulley to move himself from one level to the other. His wife preferred dry land but he loved to go out and fish and just get away. He was an interesting man. The yacht was sold a few times, even used as a drug boat, and sunk next to Treasure Island, was going to be scrapped when it was saved, taken to Stockton, and restored to its present elegant fully capable state. It's moored in Oakland where you can book tours and trips.
