Trailer Tires

This trailer I just bought is equipped with Akuret tires, "chinabombs" as they are being called. Off brand tires made in China and many have had those kind of tires blow while on the road, so I plan to replace them. Looking at Goodyear due to them being about the only ones available up here and having had such good luck with them in my last trailer. Maxxis is another highly regarded brand but closest is a bit over a hundred miles from here. Too far to go for warranty work or whatever. Trailer Life magazine readers rated Michelin as top pick.

Was wondering what kind of rubber those of you pulling trailers have out there have.

I put 6 new Michelins on Angel immediately after I bought her. Last year I replaced her spare but they didn't have a matching Michelin so I got something else. Can't remember the name but since it's just the spare I wasn't too particular.

Thanks gals, but MH tires are different from trailer tires. Those are usually light truck tires. I'm looking at different brands of ST tires and wondered what the trailer owners on this forum are rolling on and if you have experience any problems out there. Goodyear Marathons are a popular. Rand, but the complaints are piling up. It's not easy finding replacement tires when so many are made in China now. Reading other RV forums is a good eye opener. Although overloaded trailers are the biggest cause of tire failures as well as improper inflation and tire maintenance, so that can account for a lot of isues with some brands.

I finally read the make of my tires that came on my Lance TT. POWER KING TOWMAX STR Haven't had any trouble yet (knock on wood) Been at least 7000 miles on them.

I have a coupon from CostCo....I decided to save it for new TT tires. When I was researching, I found GREENBALL Towmaster SS Radial. Lots of persons on the Lance forum recommended them.

I just put 4 brand new LT tires on my travel trailer. I was advised to do so by a friend of mine who is like a tire freak (he tows a travel trailer, several horse trailers, and a huge utility trailer). Even the owner of my tire store said that the new tires were much better tires than the originals.
