Wow, what a night! Tuesday that is. After we, Casey and I, parked, the winds arrived. Our little trailer rocked and rolled. We survived and continued on our way West. Tonight we are in a parking lot at a casino. Lyn

Glad to hear you & Casey are safe. Not sure I would have stuck it out in my TT after seeing the news reports. I'm chicken that way. :?

Glad you checked in. That rocking and rolling is scary. Last weekend I was parked between 2 big ponds when the storm hit. I was wondering just how deep they were.

The second round is just now getting here and we are under a tornado watch.

I also am glad you are safe.

What tho, were your options? What can you do when you are in an RV in a campground and the weather turns?

Not sure where you are but Southern Nevada, So Calif and northern Arizona are supposed to have winds up to 60 - 65 mph with higher gusts today and tomorrow. If you are heading this way - DON'T.

You can usually go to the restroom/shower building during a storm. Those are usually built of concrete blocks with no windows and are the safest place to go. You can always ask about the designated storm shelters at the campground when you check in.

That's true. S ome campgrounds have safe shelters in areas prone to tornadoes or other violent storms, but others don't. Depending on the siituation, sometimes you can't make it to them either. As was the case in SD, when we got hit by a violent storm in the middle of the night. Winds were clocked at 90 mph. I was lucky to have gootten out of my rocking trailer into my truck, much less have tried to make it to the bathroom/office/laundry building, part of which suffered damage as was. Two trailers were blown over and the grain elevator in town was shredded. I saw metal laying on the other side of the freeway.

Glad you are safe Lyn.
