Southern Pennsylvania recommendations?

Postby daydreamer08 » Wed Mar 22, 2017 1:28 pm

Hi-
Has anyone stayed at either Hidden Acres or Birchview Farm, both in Coatesville, PA; Brandywine Creek, Downingtown, PA or Omas Family Campground which use to be named DJ's Shady Rest in Kirkwood PA?

Lake in Woods has super recommendations but am hoping to find somewhere a bit closer south and east.

I'm looking for a seasonal site and have decided against purchasing a truck. I am planning to hire someone to tow it from CT to PA (it = the big fifth wheel), so any and all recommendations are very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Lori, wish I could help you out with your question but even though I'm in PA I'm not familiar with that part of the state! Been to Concorville a couple of times for classes for work but didn't have much time to sightsee. Plus the fact it's so close to the city! Although I do remember getting lost on some back roads and it was a pretty area! Good luck in your search!

Lori, I haven't stayed at any of those, either, but we have stayed at Mill Bridge campground, in Ronk PA which has an old covered bridge in the campground and is on a small creek. There is a small road on the other side of the creek where the Amish use their horse and buggies. Not sure if that would be a good area for you.

Hi -
Over the weekend I have totally flip-flopped my plans. I am now going to set it up in Southern New Hampshire - as close as I can get to Boston but not be in Massachusetts. (daughter in Boston area) (son in Maryland which was the reason for PA). Wish I could set up seasonally in Hampton Beach State Park, but their max is 14 days. Oh well. Somewhere close to there.

I came to this site so scattered. I went through so many different scenarios. Such a newbie!

Thanks!

Discovery is what makes it so much fun.

Discovery of all kinds, including where you want to go, how you want to get there, and what you want to do when you arrive. And just when I think I have made up my mind, I'm generally off on to still another option.

So many choices! So little time! :D
